Journalists face a digital skills gap, particularly in emerging countries with poor access to training and devices.

As a learn-on-the-go program, Facebook Fundamentals for News is delivered via the BigSpring mobile platform. Since launching in 2021, this mobile-first format has helped the program reach over 4,000 journalists across Bangladesh, including previously unreached journalists from rural regions.

BigSpring, a mobile lifelong skilling platform, today announced the appointments of former CEO of Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Frits van Paasschen, and former Group Executive of Rio Tinto plc, Hugo Bague, as advisors.

BigSpring, a 2020 World Economic Forum Technology Pioneer, has developed a mobile learning platform that promises lifelong upskilling for every worker and every job. The aim is to measure ROI from learning to establish it as a core business driver – not a discretionary expense. A half-million learners are already on its platform.
